My name is Marc Sascha Maass. Originally from Berlin, Germany,
I have been living and working in Puerto Vallarta since 2017.
That same year, I founded The Picnic Company.
The passion to start this project was an extension of my own personal desire to find meaningful ways to connect with others and bring moments of true joy into people's lives.
I'm proud and humbled to say we are 5+ years strong, and our mission continues to reflect that passion.
We continue to have the vision of sharing personalized picnics with people from all walks and ages of life. Our desire is to infuse true happiness into people's lives one moment at a time.
We do that by providing a space that gives people the opportunity to connect with their inner child and re-awaken their true sense of inner joy and the bliss experienced when that joy is shared with their loved ones.
Since I was a child, I have always loved bringing people together. I remember making some sandwiches for myself and my friends, taking the picnic blanket out of the closet, riding my bike to the lake, and surprising my friends with a picnic. I deeply appreciate that Mexico is a country that values time spent in a community filled with joy and happiness
In Puerto Vallarta, many have a personal story of why they live here. Like everyone, I also have my own story. In 2013, an a5-7cmtumorwasfoundinmychesttissue, forcing me to put my career aside, undergo surgery, and embark on recovery. Also during this time, I experienced the death of my parents and other family members. It was 3 difficult years until I was able to actively participate in life again. In an effort to find stillness within myself, I stayed in a silent monastery in Germany in 2016; it was there that I had an epiphany. A divine voice spoke to me and told me that my mission was to go to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and bring love and happiness to the hearts of the people. I listened. I surrendered to Divine will and made the decision to leave Germany and reconnect to what was most important to me: joy, health, and kindness
Since then, that divine energy continues to fill me every day and drives me to continue creating new creative experiences and picnics for my clients. I feel like a little kid playing in the sandbox by trying out new experiences for my clients. I am grateful to be alive, to be healthy, and for my team and to the people who believe in our mission: Your happiness is our mission. Thanks for everything. Marc
About the Picnic Company
When I started the The Picnic Company in 2017 it was a hard sell at first. Picnics were almost unheard of at the time, and many people didn't realize how much fun it could be. It took 6-8 months for us that other companies like Bridessquat, one of our alliance partners, -webpage bridessquat - finally took notice of us. Little by little we developed special packages for our customers. Now 5 years later we can offer to our clients, different picnic packages, movie picnics, breakfasts, proposals, bacherlorette parties and more.
Our "events for friends" make me particularly proud, where together with the Terra Noble Community we create a space to get to know each other, share happiness and at the same time support social projects in Puerto Vallarta with the earnings. At the same time, the Picnic Company is one of the official donors for the organization Canica, where we organize together with the library los Mangos on December 18 their Christmas party.
